Is anything needing to be done manually going from 5.1 to 5.2 or watch out for ?

In the release notes, there is no “Important Notes?”

like there was for 5.1
You should also see [Important Notes](QTS 5.1 Series | Release Notes | QNAP) before updating QTS.

Also where can I find more info about this known issue to determine if it’s affecting users so I know if the newesr update will fix their issues or not ? "“kernel-mode SMB daemon that caused the NAS to stop responding for some users.”

I never received communication from qnap as to cause or fix on issues observed that started with first nas making it to 5.2 and did not go away until all nas were on 5.2.3. I believe this was not observed or reported on by others with single qnap lans or when all nas ran same level firmware. I had 9-10 units at various 5.0.x and 5.1.x and after the first that made it to 5.2 I started getting windows warning pop-up on copies that ‘content may not be safe’ across all 5.x nas accessed, not just for the 5.2 nas. Totally random in occurrence but more frequent than more serious issue of not being able to delete a folder from windows and had to use file station to do these deletes successfully. No changes to windows or on the qnaps to try and fix this, but as if by magic, once all 5.0.x and 5.1.x on the lan were migrated to 5.2.3, no more re-occurrence of those issues…

While we all wish for more and better communication from qnap, I do have to say one of my most expensive mistakes was listening to delvelopers conference video about a year before hero came out and regarding existing units developers said we would probably never see it for small devices, that XEON nas with support for at least 32gb would be candidates, but in practice they seemed to do the opposite and I ended up with a stack of XEON 32+GB nas that CAN’T hero.
