Issue with Ports 11172 & 11173 When Using Hyper Data Protector (v2.x) + NetBak PC Agent (v1.2.x) for Windows Backup

Hi everyone,

I’d like to ask if anyone has experience with ports 11172 and 11173 when using Hyper Data Protector (currently at version 2.x) along with NetBak PC Agent (currently at version 1.2.x) to back up a Windows system.

I’ve already tried opening these ports across the network and configured the appropriate protocols, but the Windows backup still fails with an error message indicating that the ports are blocked.

I’ve also ensured that both inbound and outbound rules are properly set in the Windows firewall, yet the issue persists.

Has anyone encountered this before or can provide any insights or troubleshooting steps—especially considering the versions mentioned above? I’ve been struggling with this for a while and would really appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance!

just to confirm im using quts and HDP 2.2.4 and netbak agent 1.2.6.

I havent had any issues with port failing and havent done anything to windows firewall to enable ports.

If you think it is a windows port issue, try to turn off windows firewall temporarily and then run the backup. if it still failing on ports, it might be someone else in the network blocking those ports and not windows.

Outside that test, the other option would be uninstall netbak app and reinstall to see if that helps.

Are you forwarding those ports internally to the same ip on the NAS that NBPC is logging into?

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll try uninstalling and reinstalling it first.

I’m not sure either, since the network configuration is handled by another vendor. I’ll check with them first. Thank you for your suggestion!

Internally.

Could you please try disabling your firewall and testing again?

Also, quick question: What Windows version are you currently running? Thanks!
