Just got the QNAP TS-231P 2 Bay NAS and I have no idea what I'm doing

Recently got the TS-231P 2 Bay so that I can use it with my Acronis to back up my system

I updated the firmware and apps and did all the standard setup including snapshot
but I can’t Windows 11 or Acronis to see it and Storage Plug and Connect had a problem seeing the public folder, until I manually added the credentials to Windows Credentials
but I still can’t get Windows explorer and Acronis to the see Qnap Nas,

What do I need to do so that Windows and Acronis see it properly
I have enabled ClamAV, NO QFirewall, and have BitDefender on my Windows, disabling its firewall didn’t help

Any advice on what I need to do, would be great
Thanks

NOTE: Originally I thought this was a TS-220, as it was described in the store listing, but after checking the back, I found out what I got was TS-231P

That NAS is ancient(~15 years), you need to enable SMB 2 via SSH to use it with modern systems

smb2enable

Thanks, from what I can find that’s already enabled by default in Windows 11 and according to the QNAP settings it set as the lowest SMB setting

and for it being 15+ years old, it does the job I need it to do, that is if I can get it work
which I’m realising could be tied to credentials and privileges

and if I can get the working, I then need it to work with Acronis, without the need to map a folder and take up a drive letter

How did you see the SMB Level on the NAS? These old NAS do not show the SMB level in GUI, just via SSH (Never said to touch anything in Windows btw)

I can access the QNAP OS through the web-browser

and I think I know why, I just checked the back of the NAS to see if there’s a date of manufacture, but discovered it’s not a TS-220, as I originally thought, which was what it said on the store listing, it’s actually a TS-231P and from what I can find, that came out about 9 years ago.

My initial info was for a TS-220 (before you changed it) and that info is correct for that NAS

On the revised TS-231p the info is different and you can in fact see the SMB level via GUI.

Thanks

I’ll keep looking into it and see if I missed anything
right now I redid the pool and instead of a Raid 1 thin volume, I chose Raid 1 thick, I wanted to choose Traditional as I thought that would be the most basic, but it did not list the drives, which is why I went with Thick Volume, as that one allowed me to access the maximum drive capacity.
