I have an oldish Qnap NAS a TS5251D, running QTS 5.2.8.3332.
I have 4 iPads in the house 2 newish ones and 2 old ones, also an old kindle. Everything has been fine, I have been able to access the NAS through all 5 devices, using the 2 old iPads in particular to stream music from the NAS. A lot of the apps updated yesterday, and now I can only access the NAS with the 2 newish iPads. My pc running Windows 11 pro has no problem accessing it. My NAS has ethernet connection to my router the iPads and Kindle all use wi-fi to connect to my network, the 2 old iPads and Kindle have no problem connecting to the internet, I can stream music from various sites, just not now from the NAS. Any ideas anyone?
I was using Airplay on both the old iPads, now the NAS doesn’t even show in the device list. Do you think one of the myriad updates may have broken DLNA?
You may refer to the solution in the thread below. Currently, only devices that the NAS has confirmed to support DLNA streaming are allowed access automatically, while other devices need to be approved manually. Could you check your devices on the Media Streaming Add-on page and try again? Thanks!
Hi, I sorted it, for some reason (the update?) took off the DLNA ability. I checked the media streaming page and ticked all the boxes, allow newly discovered devices etc. It now works as it did before.
