M7308-4x 24g speeds

We have this switch with 100G to a server, not qnap and 25g client.

We see max send speed is roughly twice receive speed.Send maxes at about 11g

We have tested extensively

The server can go much faster, all the obvious settings have been checked. Jumbo, def conmected at 25g no errors show on switch. Jumbo tested all the way thru. Most other settings make some diff but not significant..flow control, FEC etc.

Latest firmware everywhere. Only 2 devices om switch so no other network flooding, loops etc.

Intel E810 25g atto 100g card all win 11

So our conclusion is the switch but no errors, everything works just barely above 10g rates.

I’ve seen some posts around Jumbo and qnap switches but having 9014 roughly doubles speeds so.much better with it tham without it.

The qnap.switch is much cheaper than alternatives so is this the performance we should expect

There is some confusion in the GUI with 100g ports and settings for example port 1 connection 1 does that set all 4 ports in the 100g or just one as all seem active.

I would think not but we’ve run out of ideas..

Anyone have any thoughts

Hi @nigelgourley

We apologize for the inconvenience and the unsatisfactory experience you had with our product. All our products undergo rigorous standard testing before leaving the factory to ensure performance and stability. Based on the information you provided, we assume your network environment is as follows:

  1. The Intel E810 NIC on the server uses a QSFP28 transceiver and connects to Port 1 of the QSW-M7308 switch via a 100Gbps breakout cable.

  2. Port 1 of the QSW-M7308 switch is configured in 4x25Gbps breakout mode.

  3. The other end of the breakout cable connects a single 25Gbps lane to one of the SFP28 ports on the switch via an SFP28 transceiver.

  4. The 25Gbps client devices directly connect to other SFP28 ports on the switch using SFP28 transceivers and fiber optic cables. Please confirm if this matches your actual setup. If there are any discrepancies, please let us know. Additionally, to ensure the best compatibility and performance, we recommend referring to the transceiver compatibility list on our official website and choosing verified transceiver models. To better diagnose the issue, we need you to provide the specifications and model of the 100Gbps breakout cable used. Our team will thoroughly analyze this information and work closely with you to identify the root cause and find a solution. Thank you for your feedback and support. We value our partnership with each and every customer.
