Unfortunately, Telekom is switching our Magenta plan to the new 2.0.
They sent us new devices in advance.
These work without internal hard drives, which really bothers me.
But oh well, unfortunately that’s not something I can change. What I would like to change, though, is the recording location.
Can I set the new devices to record onto my QNAP?
Has anyone already done this? Thanks in advance…
Magenta TV is IPTV, right?
Can/Is it allowed to record it locally?
Or what exactly is the question?

Probably not.
It seems like only cloud recordings are possible (depending on your plan).
There are a lot of posts from users here:
Magenta TV was already “copy-protected” in the previous version 1.0, in the sense that the video files stored on the built-in hard drives could only be played back on the same Media Receiver. You can’t access the files (DRM) — and that’s exactly what Telekom wants for the new Magenta TV 2.0 version as well!
