I was a long time user of TS-451 with 4x4TB disks in RAID-5 config. Recently the TS-451 died while the device was on (Intel degradation I imagine). I checked the migration compatibility and TS-464 was compatible, so I bought one. When the new NAS arrived, I turned on the TS-464 with no disks inside. did the setup and the firmware updates. Turned down the 464 and installed the disks from 451 in the correct order. I turned on the 464 but “Storage/Snapshots” displays no storage pools. I can physically see the disks under the Disks/VJBOD but the Storage is empty.
Any idea what I did wrong? Was there an option in the initial setup that I should have selected?
PS: Since the old TS-451 died during operation, I couldn’t turn it off the disks gracefully or perform any migration solutions.
I left everything by default, meaning QTS. I just checked the information from QFinder Pro and the version is mentioned as: QTS 5.2.10.3577
I would like to send some screenshots but the situation is getting worse now. I wanted to reset the NAS to see if that would help. Pressed the Reset button for 10 seconds. I heard the beep but now I cannot login to the NAS with the admin account. QFinder sees the NAS, I can see the name of the NAS has changed but when I use admin/MAC address as password, it doesn’t let me login.
Thanks, I will try this once I can login to the NAS. I tried to factory reset the 464 using the Reset button at the back and now I am completely locked out of it, even with admin/MAC password configuration. Don’t understand what’s going on…
The link provided above gives you the cloud key, but this link explains for you why you (or others reading this thread) could not log in. Short answer, default password for “admin” is version dependant.
I would factory reset the new NAS and then boot it up with the disks from the TS-451 already installed. That is what I did when I migrated my TS-451 to my TS-873A. Worked like a charm.
Our initial guess is that this may be related to an SSD already being installed in the M.2 slot on your TS-464, rather than the factory reset itself. Could you take a screenshot of your current Storage Manager screen and share it with us? Thanks!
