I want to migrate my TS-253B from RAID1 to JBOD. I understand that this is not possible without backing up and then rebuilding the disks from scratch. Are there any methods/tricks that will allow me to reduce the time for the reinstall of the system – keeping my current settings, installed docker containers, etc.? Can a backup to an external HDD be made to include all configuration settings such as those?
JBOD as in single disks or a spanning JBOD?
Did you use compose for the containers?
Single disks. I didn’t use compose.
Maybe redo all you containers via compose, that way it’s super easy to back them up (always have backups of all your data, even more so on your future single disk plans) and restore them on any machine.
OK thanks. What about everything else - native app settings, installed qpkg, etc?
There is a backup function, but it’s also containing your storage config, so restoring it might add a missing RAID1.
