Migration from old to new NAS with existing disks, cannot create storage pool

Hi
I’ve upgraded my NAS from TS 439 pro II to TS 464 and I kept the 4 disks as is (used in RAID 6 mode). The new NAS was first installed with qutes hero and then I pluged in the disks.
Surprinsingly enough, I can see and access existing volumes (and all user accounts have been kept).
However I cannot either delete this volume or can not see the 4 disk when I go the Storage pool panel. Am i doing something wrong ?

You need to start the NAS from scratch…legacy disks will neither work with QTS or QuTS storage pools

HI,
What do you mean by starting from scratch ? I did remove all disks first to switch to Quts Hero (otherwise that’s not possible) then I shutdown and restarted with the disks pluged in. Is there another way ?

I means the disk storage needs to be erased and restored from backups (after correctly recreated)

Highly suggest putting the disks back into you 439 and getting 2x m.2 drives for your TS-464.
Start the setup of the 464 with only the m.2 installed and get to the QuTS dashboard.

Now either:
You have backups and you can completely wipe your 4x HDDs
You have no backups and you should take this opportunity to get a fresh set of disks.

Then use QNAP to QNAP transfer to copy your data over.

Or give up on QuTS. (It’s really nice, I like it a lot)

Thanks a lot for your answers. There is a factory reset option in the backup and restore section. I can now create my pool.
