When I bought the QNAP TS-264 NAS, my only goal was to safely back up my computer. However, I quickly realized that this NAS can do much more, and it has become an essential part of my home network.
I started with 4TB drives, but it didn’t take long to see that the capacity wouldn’t be enough. After upgrading to 8TB, I now have plenty of space for all my data—whether it’s backups, media, or security camera recordings. Speaking of cameras, that was the next step—I currently have five cameras connected, and the NAS handles them without any issues.
Performance-wise, the TS-264 keeps up well, but if I were to give one piece of advice when choosing a NAS, I’d recommend getting a model with expandable RAM. The original 8GB quickly became insufficient, so I upgraded to 32GB, which made a huge difference—everything runs much smoother and faster.
Since the NAS offers many features, I gradually expanded its functions to include media streaming. Now, I can easily share and stream videos and movies across my home network. Additionally, a great feature is the automatic backup of mobile devices for the whole family—I no longer have to worry about losing important photos and documents.
If you’re looking for a reliable NAS, I can highly recommend the TS-264—not just for backups but also as a multimedia and security hub for your home.
