As a photographer with a huge collection of images stored on my NAS, and with the rising cost of HDD/SSDs, I’d love to see QNAP develop the QuMagie/File Station App to support AVIF or JXL files for thumbnail generation. AVIF files are half the size of JPEGs with no noticeable downgrade in visual quality. Lightroom allows export to both these formats so it would be integrated into a photographer’s workflow easily.
Hi @AndyB thanks for the suggestion.
I have passed this request for AVIF and JXL thumbnail support in QuMagie and File Station to our team for evaluation, I will update this thread once there is any news.
