NetBak Agent "Cannot connect to NAS – Please ensure the service is enabled

I’m trying to install NetBak Agent on a Windows Server 2019 virtual machine, but I’m running into an issue.
When I launch the application, it says it can’t connect to the NAS and asks me to start the service.
But when I go to Services and try to manually start the NetBak Agent service, I get a different error.

help me please figure out what’s causing this and how to fix it


Can you access the NAS from the virtual machine’s browser?
Is it possible that they are not on the same lan network?

I have been getting the same error, but when I do a backup it works perfect. I think this is a bug in NetBak and after failing it retries and connects. I have had this error 3 times over several weeks.
