I do that with my cameras. Any time motion is detected in certain defined areas they email a 4k picture to a specific email. I use thunderbird email to automatically delete the emails after 5 days so as not to overfill the inbox.
I understand that, but it is so much simpler (and no internet involved) to save a snap on your QNAP NAS whenever motion is detected. The snap would have the camera name and time stamped on it and you would quickly know what/where video to look for.
The photos have the camera and time stamp. I have 6 cameras doing this and each has its own email (camera1@… camera2@… etc.) I get around 150 emails a day and I never need to get rid of old ones. Just sayin’, if you really need this feature you can have it.
No offense, but I think you miss my point.
I don’t want emails involved, nor internet…
Just a way for QVR to save a local snap whenever there is motion detected.
You set up a rule, trigger and event. Detecting Events in QVR Pro | QNAP
I ended up with 1000s of JPEG’s after I set it up so after a couple of years I deleted the event.
