I have been using Plex for watching movies on my Smart TV. It seems that Plex for QNAP has paused or stopped being developed? I download Plex from their site but the version is two releases back compared to other platforms. Is this temporary or something has happened and we will not see new Plex versions for QNAP?
There is chatter in the Plex forums about qpkg validation. You can download unsigned beta versions from the Plex forums, but signed qpkg seem to be stalled (Plex says it’s QNAPs fault and vice versa)
PLEX has a direct download for QNAP devices. Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More
Just go there and grab the qpkg that you need for your intel processor. Download it to your PC or mac, and then install it via App Center like any other qpkg. Once it’s installed it will run you through the initial setup. You will find it at http://sever.addr:32400 in your favorite web browser.
OP said that he/she downloaded the regular qpkg from the Plex page already, but that is behind currently (signing issues)
Thank you @dolbyman. Do you have a link to the beta? Don’t beta’s require a PlexPass?
EDIT : I just downloaded a beta
We are currently working with Plex to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you all for your support and patience!
How is it that this has taken a week to what probably boils down to using the correct certificate to approve and validate.
Something is clearly being held up beyond a technical issue.
There is a new beta version (mid april 2026) right here. Hardware/GPU/Quicksync transcoding broken on Beta 1.43.1.10540 - #118 by chris_decker08 - Plex Pass Betas - Plex Forum
There seems to be an official signed Plex qpkg now
Version 1.43.2.10687
edit apparently it’s officially offered but not signed yet
I don’t see a new release on Plex
Is it on the public channel?
Anyway those of us who don’t have Plexpass can get a copy?
The qpkg is publicly downloadable, not sure if it will run without plexpass

Yes, it works even without a Plex Pass.
By the way: The dilemma regarding the software signing stems from the fact that, since Plex switching their development platform, Plex now requires a hardware key for signing. Naturally, that takes some time…
Thank you dolbyman
