Notification center - SMTP service account already exists

QNAP TS-873 on firmware version QTS 5.2.3.3006 with installed app “Notification Center” 1.8.0.2982.

I’m trying to set up mail notifications and getting an error “SMTP service account: [mail address] already exists” when trying to add it in “Service Account and Device Pairing”.
But in the Notification Center, this address is not registered yet.

I suspect that the mail address I’m trying to use was configured in the old QNAP SMTP settings (Firmware 4.x ?) but now in Firmware 5.x I can’t remove it anymore.

Does anyone have an idea how to remove this old config?

Have your tried opening a service ticket with QNAP?

I am having the same issue. I doesn’t matter what email address I use it says this in a dialog: “SMTP service account: [email address] already exists.”

Hey, sorry for the late reply, but there is a solution to this.

I had to open a service ticket with QNAP and they were able to fix it.
Their response was as follows:

Under unknown circumstances, the receiver.MYD file was lost.
After verification, all other NC (Notification Center) configurations were found to be empty.
As a resolution, we have decided to proceed with a full reset of NC.

RD manually fixed it.

Since they fixed it, everything works like a charm.
I haven’t tried to retrace their steps, but maybe someone familiar with QNAP QTS can give hints about where to look in the file system via SSH.
