Hello,
just bought a (no-name) GTX1050i card for my TS-855x (running QTS 5.2.3.3006) and of course it’s not working. It shows up in the control panel correctly with internal chip name GP107. Same for gpuhal_app output. But it does not show up in Plex nor is it showing me any metrics (fan speed, memory, etc.) in the control panel.
Curiously, dmesg shows this error:
The Unknown NVIDIA GF1xx Series GPU installed in this system is not supported through the 550.67 NVIDIA driver.
This is not correct, as it’s clearly a GP107 and not a model from the GF1xx series.
I have the GPU and Kernel drivers installed with latest version 5.2.0.1225. Also tried GPU driver 5.0.4.1 with no success.
Looks like it was a fake card… With an old GPU modified to disguise itself as a 1050
Where did you buy a fake card from AliExpress…Temu?
It was a third party seller on Walmart.com
I have exactly the same issue with my GPU GP108, purchased from an official Qnap reseller:
gpuhal_app -l
1:NVIDIA Corporation:GP108 [GeForce GT 1030]:external:7
```gpuhal_app -s 1
active_status=2,real_status=0,driverqpkg=NVIDIA_GPU_DRV,driver_installed=1,in_used=none,transcode=0,display=1,pcie_slot=1,pcie_vp=1,va_type=none
And no information is displayed in the control panel as the user posted above. Very annoying.
So u also bought a fake card then?
Slap it in a PC and run a GPUZ on it to check.
official reseller, card supported on the compatibility list, Not a fake one.
can you post a GPUz screenshot?
