I ordered a TS-410E at my workplace to operate a shared folder within the company and to automatically back up or synchronize to OneDrive for Business. It will arrive this week, so I plan to set it up once the other equipment is ready.
I’m considering using HBS3 to perform one-way synchronization to OneDrive for Business, but is this the correct method? If there are any better ways, please let me know.
On the NAS, I will create multiple accounts and set access permissions for the folders to operate.
Yes, I think it’s fine to use HBS3 for synchronization.
If the NAS capacity is >= OneDrive, then synchronizing with HBS3 should be fine.
If the NAS capacity is < OneDrive, it might also be an option to use HybridMount to upload to OneDrive. When synchronizing with HBS3, you can choose to sync by copying or moving.
Do you need to keep data one-to-one between OneDrive and on-premises?
Is it enough just to send data to OneDrive?
Do you need to access the data sent to OneDrive from the NAS?
If you clarify these points, I think it will become clear which method is best.
Thank you so much for even providing a screenshot!
Considering the intended use, it seems that using HBS3 would be a good choice.
At present, there’s no need for a strict one-to-one correspondence between the Onedrive side and the on-premises side (since Onedrive is mainly used for backup and data is only restored during recovery), so I felt that creating a sync job with copy, taking into account restoration during recovery, would be the best approach.
Thank you for the information!
I tried backup and recovery with your company’s NAS that I personally own at home.
For regular backups and version management, the method in the link also seems good.
In the future, there may be opportunities to view files stored on OneDrive, so this time I plan to use synchronization.
