The great work of QNAP developers and your NAS can be turned into nothing just because there is a small problem with a new release and no possibility to quickly return back to the previous state.
That’s what occurs with the QuTS hero h6.0.1.3550 where the Nvidia driver is defective. This makes the RTX-5000 series fail to work.
All my AI system went down in just a couple of minutes without any chance to restore my system. My AI users just lost the services and I’m not able to say when they will come back to normal. Such situation is not acceptable in production.
There is an URGENT need to put in place a recovery system in order to maintain QoS.
I’m confident in the great experience of QNAP engineers to find a sound solution that help us to maintain continuous operation.
You’ll need to open a ticket with QNAP directly. Pelase be sure to update us on the levers that need pulled to successfully revert back to previous firmware version if they provide that path.
Glad the helpdesk got you sorted, and thanks for coming back to mark it solved — that helps the next person who hits the RTX driver issue.
One clarification for anyone reading later, since it comes up a lot: a downgrade on h6 is still possible — it’s handled by our support team rather than from the GUI. So “downgrading is not an option” isn’t quite right; it’s no longer a self-service button, but Support can roll you back to a previous h6 build when an update causes trouble like this.
Thanks again!
