Possible QVR Surveillance Bug in Event recording

I am attaching two files. One which shows 5.7TB out of 8.3TB for storage, and while continuous recording fills up to 30 days as expected, I am not getting up to 70 days of event recording in the available free space.

NAS is TSh-1277AFX with QVR Surveillance install on a QM2 Card with 4 x 4TB WD NVMe SN700s. Using QuTS hero 6, but had the issue under QuTS 5.

Any ideas?

Hi @jpqnap we have check your setup and there maybe need another screenshot of the recording space to confirm the issue.

1.QuTS hero uses Thin Volume by default when creating Shared Folders. It is more flexible than Thick Volume, but it will share space with other Volumes in the same Pool, which may prevent the expected space limit from being used.

2.There is another parameter “Retention Policy” that limits the maximum capacity that can be used in this recording space. For example, although my device is given 2TB of space for the recording, it will start retention after using 1TB due to the settings.

There are indeed some display information of storage space can be improved, we will assess how to proceed.

Thank you. On my TSh-1277AFX, I have two storage pools. Storage Pool 1 is RAID6 for my SATA SSDs (for data, and Storage Pool 2 is the 4 x 4TB NVMe drives in RAID 5 for QVR Surveillance.

Here is Storage Pool 2:

Hope this helps.

Hi @jpqnap Your setup looks good, although this report led us to other issues, but it should not be the reason why your event recordings were not saved for 70 days.

Could you help to create a ticket on QNAP Customer Service website to let the support team can arrange a remote connection for our development team can check what happened on you QVR Surveillance directly?

Thank you, doing so now.
