Pre Sale Question for TS-632X

Hello,
I have an old Drobo 5D which is still working but no longer supported.

I was thinking of replacing it with the TS-632X.

Does this NAS have limitations on drive types that it can work with?
I have three WD Red Plus 6TB WD60EFRX-68L and three WD Red Plus 8TB WD80EFAX-68K, can this NAS work with these drives together and as need be increase their sizes?
Or do they all need to be the same size?

What happens when I want to upgrade drive sizes in the future, can they be increased one by one? Or do I need to replace all 6 in one go and restore the drive contents from a backup?

Thank you,
Guy Fisher.

Just check your compatibility of the disks here: Compatibility List - QNAP

if you want to upgrade them one at a time you can do so, but you are limited to the raid size due to the smallest drive before you can expand the whole raid.

No limitations with current drive sizes.

When creating volumes, watch your inode size and keep them in mind for future upgrades

QNAP uses standard RAID levels, smallest drives will dictate the overall size used.

As long as the upgrades are within your inode size and nothing goes wrong during each rebuild, all data stays intact on the drives. (But backups are needed at all times anyways)

New to QNAP, what is inode size?
