I have connected a TL-R1600PES to a TS-h2490FU using a QXP-3X8PES card. Everything seems great except the expansion bay seems to into standby mode when not accessed for a period of time. I.e. if I go to a shared folder on the TL-R1600PES first thing in the morning, it will take about 20-30 seconds before I see shared folder contents, and Storage and Snapshots says there are no drives in the expansion bay during this time. The NVME based folders in the main unit respond during this time.
I need to disable these drives or the expansion bay spinning down, but there is no option in Control Panel → System → Hardware to enable or disable drive standby mode.
How do I prevent the drives/expansion unit from spinning/powering down? Or is this some other issue?
My research suggests the option was taken out of NVMe based units like the TS-h2490FU due to not being needed. Shouldn’t the option re-appear when spindle drives are present in an expansion enclosure? Has this been fixed in a later version of QuTS Hero than what I am running?
Currently, this option is not yet available through the user interface on all-flash NVMe SSD NAS systems. We already have a solution under internal validation and compatibility testing, and plan to release the enhancement in a future QuTS hero update once validation is completed.

Is there is a reliable way to disable HDD standby from the command line? If so then I am happy to try this. Not so keen to try experimental software on a production server.
