QNAP Alternatives to Couchpotato and Radarr

Hi folks… Back again with another query. I’m about to start rebuilding my TS-253 Pro with a couple of SDDs. Currently I still use QCouchPotato (v160822) which I downloaded yeeeears ago from the old QNAPClub. However as this is no longer available to download what are people using as a Movie Management app in QNAP?

This new forum seems geared a bit more for technical issues with Hardware but this is really a software/app question - hope that’s ok

I have seen recommendations to use Radarr however the qkpg available requires a paid dependency (Apache) and the alternative seems to be to use Docker (Container Station?) which to be honest just confuses me how to get this up and running. I did try Watcher3 a few years ago but this too is now a dead project :frowning:

Are there any alternatives anyone is using?

The main use cases for me are;
A movie search and download function (using NZB or Torrent)
A renaming function (I use nzbToMedia but I think that has a dependency on having Couchpotato/Radarr being installed? not sure)
Automatic unrar/zip (if needed) and move file to my media storage

Hope someone can offer some insight. Thanks in advance. :smiley:

I’d say you’d need to take the time to figure out Docker and run radarr and the other supporting applications containerized. OR, you can spin up a VM under Virtualization Station and install those applications natively on Linux/Windows.

I actually took the plunge and think I have a working test set up working for Radarr using Container Station (and even worked out how to map external drives to the Radarr container). Thanks… Hopefully this will actually make things easier moving forwards. Just need to work out how to prevent the ports updating everytime the container restarts…

OOooohh! Thanks for the heads-up. I will definitely check that out. Much appreciated :slight_smile:
