QNAP HybridMount/HBS3 backup to TrueNAS

Hi folks. What used to be working perfectly isn’t anymore and thought I’d reach out for your thoughts and this may not be an issue that QNAP is entirely at fault, if at all..

Previously, I used HybridMount via SMB to TrueNAS being hosted on a Dell PowerEdge R740 server and was able to set up an HBS3 one-way sync job from the QNAP to the TrueNAS without issue. I recently removed and replaced the share on the TrueNAS and attempted to edit the job on HBS3 to the newly named shared directory on TrueNAS. The problem is that wen I attempt to define the destination directory HBS3 does go out an attempt to talk to the TrueNAS but the little detection wheel in HBS3 spins forever without ever being able to show the directory I want to use.

I know the HybridMounted TrueNAS share is working because I can see it in QNAP’s file station and can copy to via paste and delete from without an issue. I can also see the TrueNAS share from with Windows file explorer as well so I know the permissions in Windows and QNAP are working fine.

Any idea why I am unable to get HBS3 to drill down into the TrueNAS and find the directory I am looking for?

Since you moved, did your LAN IP addresses change?

You’ve replaced the share on TrueNAS. I would expect you need to recreate the job from scratch instead of just editing it. Try that.
