Hi!
quick question, I have a small network at home with a Qnap QSW-1105-5T 2.5g switch.
It is on cycle alarm, then all lamps are blinking, switch off, alarm.
I have a small video but unfortunately i can’t upload it here.
Is the switch defective, or is there anything i can try?
I do not know what a “cycle alarm” is. But this is a ‘dumb’ switch, so besides those LED’s, there is not much info to gather.
Is the switch doing that alarm and switch off even without plugged in network cables ? If so, then it’s defective.
cycle means it goes on alarm, then all lamps green, then all orange, then switch off, back to alarm
It works with 2 ethernet cables plugged in only, as soon i plug in the thrid or fourth one it goes on this reboot cycle.
Chatgpt says it is most probably the power adapter which is degraded.
If the switch is out of warranty, try and swap the power supply.
If the switch still has warranty, contact your point of sale or QNAP support.
3 years old, no warranty but still it seems the switch is still ok.
Thanks I will try to get another power adapter.
