QNAP TR-002 (DAS mode) disconnects / restarts often

Hi,

I have QNAP TR-002 configured as two disk DAS unit.

The disks are 16TB Seagate EXOS X18.

I have one disk for backups and one for a large collection of photos that I often use and work with.

When accessing and using those photos from Adobe Lightroom the whole QNAP unit often disappears and seems to restart (All LEDs go down and I can hear how disk drives restarts).

Sometimes this happens outside of Lightroom but not often. I haven’t been able to reproduce this with copying or moving large files from or to these disks. The only constant way to reproduce is to use Lightroom for modifying photos on the disk.

I have tried various USB ports.

The firmware is latest 1.3.0

The temperature reported by QNAP RAID manager is 37’C / 96’F

How can I fix this?

Hello,

i have no problems with my TR-002 (1.3.0, Toshiba 16 TB + 18 TB)
But i don`t use lightroom.

have you look at the log ?

I think you should open a ticket

Could be a busted power supply maybe? (If the lights go out power rail could break down)
