Qnap tries to connect to camera every 10 mins

Hello,

Recently my Amcrest camera started sending “Illegal access” notifications. From the Amcrest logs, it appears, that Qnap tries to login into the camera every 10 mins using Qnap admin credentials.
What is the reason for Qnap to try to login to the camera, is it a “ping” or what?
I’m not able to find the setting to check/correct/disable this behavior. Is there such a setting in QVR Pro or Qnap?

Thanks

By default the QVR Pro should not try your camera. And it only do scanning when you wants to add cameras.

Did you add the camera to QVR Pro before, and remain in QVR Pro’s camera list?

Thank you for taking time to answer the question.
Yes, I had the camera before and did not have this problem. However, I’m cannot tell what exactly triggered the behavior, because I had troubles getting notifications from the camera for some time. Now that notifications problem is resolved, I started seeing the “Illegal access” alerts.
It appears, tis has nothing to do with QVR. I stoped all surveillance applications on QNAP and still getting the alerts. It seems, some kind of cron job or something on QNAP does this.

Are you running Security Counselor (or some variant of it) on your NAS?

Does not seem to be.

Have you tried rebooting your system?

Also, to help troubleshoot, you might consider changing the connected account in QVR to other account. Then, check if the logs change accordingly.
If the logs change, it might point to a QVR issue; if not, you could likely rule out QVR as the cause.
