QNAP TS-112 external access with Ziggo modem

I’ve an old, but working, TS-112 NAS and I would like to access this NAS external. The reason is to share an Access backend and some documents between a very small group of volonteers. Up to now I was not able to do this.

Within local network I’m able to access this NAS with Qfinder Pro and Explorer. In QNAP Pro I’ve now selected OpenVPN port 1194 UDP, but I’m unable to access this NAS external. I simulate external to close my WiFi and open a mobile hotspot.

It would be better for you to set up a VPN on your router if your router allows that. If not, you will need to make sure to have port forwarding turned on between the router and your NAS.

This NAS is ancient and no security issues will get patched anymore, do not expose any ports if this NAS not even the VPN server!
