QNAP TS-431 with 2 x 2TB disks in RAID1 and about 900GB of pure data shows disk full

Hello, Community Team,

I have a QNAP TS-431 with 2 x 2TB disks in RAID1 and pure data of about 900GB, but it shows the disk as nearly full. I actually thought I would still have about 1TB of free space,

but the NAS says otherwise. The actual data amount of about 900GB is displayed consistently both on the NAS and in Windows 11 via network connection.

Obviously, something is wrong here and I have researched that it could possibly be due to storage usage by snapshots. However, I have never created any snapshots, nor did I have the option to do so, because the Storage & Snapshots selection does not exist in QTS 4.3.6.2805.

I am grateful for any tips.

Best regards, Friedhelm

A few screenshots would be great.

Since a TS-431 (without suffix) cannot create storage pools, I can already rule that out as the cause.

Hello,

there was already a Recycle Bin in QTS 4.3.x. If it is enabled, try emptying it.

Network Recycle Bin

Hello Becker2020,

A thousand thanks! That was it.

The recycle bin was full.

It won’t happen again! Thanks again

and regards, Friedhelm
