QNAP TS-459 Pro II Maximum disk capacity per bay

We have one unit of QNAP TS-459 Pro II. Is it still worth using?

We’re planning to upgrade the disks in all bays, what’s the maximum capacity per bay for this model?

Thank you

16TB volume limit if you “upgrade” drives, no such limit when you start from scratch

Due to the age and speed of the device, I would avoid it though

Dear @dolbyman
After reviewing the status of TS-459 Pro 2, we could confirm that this is very old model and its already EOL.

You may opt for newer TS-464 Model, which is successor of TS-459 Pro II
(TS-464 | Bye-bye Gigabit NAS, hello 2.5GbE NAS. | QNAP )

You may refer to this page to know various hard drives options you may have with TS-464.

  • Max single HDD size: 24 TB
  • Max total raw capacity: 4 × 24 TB = 72 TB (RAID 5 example)

Hope this helps. Please feel free to get back to us if you need any further info.

wow, amazing, 16 TB for every bay ?

yeah, I see, the age and speed of the device, as this is one of our considerations.

@Amol

We’ve just purchased the QNAP TS-464 8G unit, and we’re proud to have acquired it, being one of the latest models with advanced features.

Btw, what are the most impressive and innovative features of the TS-464?
