Qsync seems to work, but the folder on the NAS is empty

Hello community.

I have Qsync 6 installed on two machines. The target folder is /home/.Qsync

The client is working every day and shows “All files up to date” Also no errors in the error.log.

I cannot find any files or folders on the NAS. In the file manager I see the Qsync older among my other files but it is also empty. Even with cli I cannot find anything.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

So do you have folder pairs set up in the desktop app that select what you are trying to sync?

Have you set File station to show hidden files? Folders that begin with a dot (.) are hidden by default in file station.

To see hidden folders / files, start file station and click the 3 vertical dots towards the top right > Settings > make sure “Show hidden files on NAS” is ticked.

Ideally, you should be using a new shared folder rather than use the “Home” folder.

Yes, exactly. I’m syncing the local Qsync folder with a folder named /home/Qsync on the QNAP TS-453D. The app runs daily; there are no error messages in the log, and it eventually displays “all files are up to date” with a green checkmark.

The “File changes” tab lists quite a few files with today’s date, also marked with checkmarks and “Success” status.

The cloud icon works, too. When I download the file, I can edit it as soon as it is available offline.

Hi Richard, I only read your second message after I answered the first one.. You are spot on. I did not activate the check on hidden files in the file station. Thank God, my files are in the right place. But still I am wondering why I could find them with the cli . Maybe it is too advanced for me but where is the folder /home/Qsync in the / tree? In the actual folder /home I have 3 folders: httpd, qhelp and Qhttpd

For now, thanks very much for the good advice.
