Security Updates
Applied multiple security updates to further enhance system security.

Fixed Issues
Fixed an issue that would cause the symbolic link of an external USB drive to disappear.
Fixed an issue where the Dashboard would incorrectly display a volume as “Full” when the volume was set to read-only.
Fixed an issue where Resource Monitor could not display the name or ID of disks installed on the TL-R1220Sep-RP expansion unit.
Fixed an issue where users could not perform a reverse DNS lookup via PTR from the localhost.
Fixed an issue where the system would send packets to external networks via 127.0.0.0/8 (loopback addresses).
Fixed an issue that would cause system instability during large file transfers from an external HDD to the NAS.
Fixed an issue with anomalous IR-related event logs during system startup even though the IR sensor was disabled.
Fixed an issue where QTS would not restore a shared folder whose description contained certain special characters when restoring system settings.
Fixed an issue where the NAS could not join an Active Directory domain on which the NTLM protocol was disabled.
Fixed an issue where users could not shut down QuTScloud if QEMU Agent was enabled.
Fixed an issue where the system would display a message about network speed mismatch when users enabled SMB multichannel for a virtual switch.
Fixed an issue where the system would not delete temporary files after backing up system files.
Fixed an issue where mcelog would keep sending error messages if it did not support the processor on the NAS model.
Fixed an issue where the data type of OID (Object Identifier) returned by SNMP Agent was not consistent with the definition of MIB (Management Information Base).
Fixed an issue where Arcserve ImageManager could not verify backup jobs on the NAS.
Fixed an issue where users could not transfer files from macOS to an HFS+ external drive on the NAS via SMB.
Fixed an issue where uploading a large number of files to a shared folder via a SmartURL would fill up the /tmp directory.
Fixed an issue where the system could not display correct storage pool capacity after expanding a storage pool by reducing over-provisioning.
Fixed an issue where Windows Previous Versions would display incomplete file lists if snapshot were taken when orphan inodes were present.
Fixed an issue where new users could still log in via SMB without changing their password even though “Change password on first login” was enabled.
Fixed an issue where domain users could not view some shared folders via FTP after administrators added a domain user group.
Fixed an issue where a guest user would connect to the tmp folder when trying to connect to the NAS home folder.
Fixed an issue where LDAP domain users could log in to the NAS via SMB but not via HTTP/HTTPS.

QTS 5.2.9.3499 build 20260514 | Release Notes | QNAP

Updated my TS-264 manually. The NAS and all Apps are running correctly.

Updated my TS-364 manually. The NAS and all Apps are running correctly.

So this thing about Canary releases is kinda BS. My TS-451 is listed as one of the applicable NAS units in this posting. But it is not seeing the update.

Same thing with my Hero based NAS units. I waited a couple weeks before manually updating each one to the latest. Yet they were showing as “supported” models.

I still haven’t gotten the last “announced release”, 3492. I don’t understand the point of these releases if they are never pushed out to the devices.

Strange that this release repeats most of the fixes of the previous one. So this one has less fixes or the some previous fixes were not actually fixed so they rerelase with updated notes or all the fixes listed now were not actually fixed last time?

Would appreciate if QNAP had a bit more clarity with these repeated releases

After checking daily, my NAS (TVS-h1288X) only today has finally offered it when checking for an update. Haven’t applied it yet, but it’s interesting that the change notes are repetitive and it took 6 days after announcement to finally get the update prompt.

Appeared in FW section and applied today. No issues to report so far.

I have still never received a push update for this NAS, despite having it set to a daily schedule.

Thanks for posting. I’ve tried upgrading several times since 3451 was announced (which I installed and have been running successfully), but neither 3492 nor 3499 ever got pushed to my devices (TS-230 and TS-253A). I got so annoyed when 3499 was announced because 3492 was never pushed to my devices that I opened a support ticket about it. So, when I saw your post, I started up my local NAS and checked again. Finally, just today, 3499 finally showed up in Firmware update on both my NASs.

Much appreciated.

I updated my TVS-671 last night. However, HBS3 jobs to my Synology failed with..

Warning 2026-05-29 06:14:50 System — Web Desktop Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/148.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 Hybrid Backup Sync Job Status [Hybrid Backup Sync] Failed to complete Sync job: “Media Libraries”. Encountered error "** WARNING: connection is not using a post-quantum key exchange algorithm.
" Attempting to retry. Error code: 1.

My rsync jobs from my Linux desktop to QNAP run fine. The only issue is QNAP to Synology. The test connection and speed test work fine. I rebuilt the connection and the jobs to no avail.

Just updated my TVS-EC1080. All my apps started up and seem to be running correctly.

First I encountered an error message that the update was unavailable. But after reopening the Firmware Update Control Panel, all worked as expected.
