QuFirewall problem after update

After a recent update to QuFirewall, the app will not retain the selected profile (restricted security) and reverts to the basic protection profile, which makes the NAS inaccessible. Manually restoring the profile to restricted security corrects the problem temporarily, but the profile selection later reverts to basic protection. (I long ago added a few additional rules to the restricted security profile necessary to make the NAS accessible in my network and this has worked without issues until the most recent QuFirewall update.) Disabling QuFirewall completely also solves the connectivity problem.

TS-451+ running latest QTS version

Summary: All works as intended when QuFirewall restricted security profile is enabled. QuFirewall profile reverts to basic protection for unknown reasons when NAS is rebooted or shutdown and restarted. This prevents my “cold storage” security strategy from working; cold storage powers down the NAS when not actually performing a backup, and starts the NAS when needed for a BU. Prior to the recent QuFirewall update the selected QuFirewall profile was preserved through reboot or power cycle.

Thanks for the report, and sorry for the inconvenience! We’ve confirmed this issue and plan to fix it in the next QuFirewall update.

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed report. We have confirmed the issue: the QuFirewall profile reverts to Basic Protection after the NAS restarts. Our team is working on a fix.

We understand this affects your cold storage setup, but if possible, please avoid restarting the NAS for now. If a restart is unavoidable, re-selecting the Restricted Security profile after startup will restore access. We will release a fixed version as soon as possible and let you know when it’s available.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Best regards,
CY

Thanks for the confirmation and prompt attention to this issue. I will use a workaround until the QuFirewall bug is corrected.
