QuMagie requires license?

TVS672X Quts hero h5.2.5.3138
This morning, I noticed that QuMagie is not running. I go into app store and it says the app is invalid and it has a required update. I attempt to update, and nothing happens. If I attempt to start the app, it says I do not have a license for QuMagie. I am not using any cloud features. When did QuMagie require a license? I have tried logging out and back in, same thing.

I think they are “breaking” existing installations of QMagie in an attempt to force users to update to the newest version which is a security update. There must be some security flaw they discovered to do this. Problem is that the update package is not valid!

Thanks for the response…yup, just removed QuMagie and attempted to reinstall…says app is invalid. Guess we will have to wait it out.

Another glorious day in the world of QNAP.

I received the same error 2 hours ago. I saw there was an update so I updated QuMagie to 2.6.1 but still received the same error. I opened a ticket with QNAP but have not heard back. I just tried to start QuMagie again and it opened and I have yet to receive the license error. Maybe they fixed it?

I was able to reinstall and looks like its working now.

Confirmed. Mine updated too

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Regarding the recent issue where QuMagie displayed messages such as “License Required” or “Installation Failed,” the problem has been resolved and the service is now functioning normally. Please rest assured that QuMagie does not require a license.

We recommend reopening the App Center and updating to the latest version.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and will continue to improve the product experience.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
