QuMagie Upload Question

I have a situation I have run into with QuMagie due to storage limitations on my phone and need some advice from QNAP or users who have more experience with QuMagie than myself…

On my phone, I have to have my photos set to “optimize storage” as my current phone only has 256 GB of storage. So my pictures get uploaded to iCloud pretty much instantly. Normally, it seems that QFilePro on my phone is able to upload new pics at the same time. However, I recently spent a week in Iceland where I took a LOT of pictures and did not always have great connectivity. Only a small handful of the 750 plus pictures I took have been uploaded to my NAS.

What is the best way to get pictures into QuMagie from my iPhoto library without manually exporting image files from iPhoto and then uploading them into QuMagie. That’s a pain. I would like to just drag and drop from iPhoto on my desktop to QuMagie but that doesn’t seem to work. QFilePro on my phone doesn’t work as the images are no longer on my phone but in the cloud…

I would consider using Syncthing as a synchronization application — I think it would work very well for this kind of task. You can configure automatic synchronization of your photos between your iMac and NAS, without having to manually export photos from iPhoto/Photos and then upload them to QuMagie.

If you prefer to use QNAP products, then Qsync would also be a very good option for synchronization between your iMac and NAS.

Since you have Optimize Storage enabled on your iPhone, the original photos may only be stored in iCloud, so Qfile Pro on the phone may not always be able to upload your entire library. Using the iMac as the source would be much more convenient.
