What are the differences between iOS apps Qfile Pro and QuMagie for uploading photos to NAS from my iPhone? It appears that both have the capability. I have already set up Qfile but now see that QuMagie also has a backup function. What is the preferred app and why?
Second question: if I switch to using QuMagie’s backup function will it duplicate the photos uploaded? (I have not deleted any photos on my phone that were uploaded with Qfile.)
I think QuMagie is only for images and videos (going to QuMagie), Qfile would be for any file (music, video, pdf, excel, etc) going to the general NAS storage
Thanks for the reply, it makes sense. My need as mentioned is photos (and videos). Would still like to know what is preferred and why for this use case.
Hi
We use Qfile on the phones which uploads files and images to a temporary folder on the NAS (one for each user). Then a Qfiling task runs to move the files to the final photos subfolders. The qfiling task “Flattens out” the folder structure so all photos from one user go into one folder with no subfolder. Also, it will NOT move duplicates. The reason for this is that sometimes a user moves photos or videos to an album/folder on their phone and Qfile would then upload that again creating a duplicate on the NAS.
This is the reason i use Qfile / Qfiling instead of Qumagie upload
I use QFile to send my photos to my NAS. I use it instead of QuMagie because I use it to access files and other things that aren’t necessarily images. You have two cars in your garage here. Both will get you somewhere else. It’s your choice.
