Security Updates

  • Applied multiple security updates to further enhance system security.

Enhancement

Control Panel

  • Administrators can now back up and restore system settings between QTS and QuTScloud, and between QuTS hero and QuTScloud hero.

Login Screen

  • After an administrator enforces 2-step verification (2SV) without configuring SMTP service or signing in to myQNAPcloud, users can still log in and complete 2SV setup. (Previously, users were locked out.)

Fixed Issues

  • Resolved an issue where, after delegating roles to domain users, the system would fail to display existing domain groups in “Control Panel > Privilege > User Groups”.
  • Increased the width of the phone number field in “Personal Settings > Profile”, allowing users to see the entered phone number in full.
  • Resolved a rare issue where the system could stop responding due to a metadata read error under certain conditions.
  • Fixed an issue where, after extending a WORM file retention period during continuous read operations, the system could become unresponsive.
  • Fixed an issue where, after restarting the NAS, a degraded storage pool could encounter an I/O error under certain conditions.

I upgraded to this newly released firmware without knowing that I am already on QuTS Hero h5.3. So this is actually a downgrade? My hardware acceleration is not working on this firmware. I need to go back to 5.3 or upgrade to 6.0.

The h5.3 branch was intended only for users who wanted to use High Availability Manager. For everyone else, it was recommended to stay on the h5.2.(8) series and then upgrade to h6.0, which is already available but now in beta.

not sure if this is due to firmware but now i am getting the following error on starting up the nas.

Error 2025-11-28 09:06:21 — — localhost — Hardware Status — [Hardware Status] Failed to automatically install the driver: NvKernelDriver. The GPU is not functioning. Check the internet connection and manually install the driver through App Center or download it from the QNAP website.

Update- yeah looks like this FW broke the GPU. I tried to reinstall nvidia drivers and it hangs. Workign on going back to prior version.

FYI - if you run into issue you and you need to downgrade you get this lovely message now.

Updated my TVS-h674.
The NAS and all Apps are running correctly.

i had to follow this to get the nv kernal driver working again. After that i had to shutdown and power off the unit. now gpu is showing up. Still working on the nvidia drivers, they still appear broken.

Update - i had to uninstall the nvidia drivers, reboot then install the drivers again. It took for ever but i think i am finally back up with gpu and still on current FW. That was like 4 hours wasted….

PS dont forget to reset the gpu usage under hardware

Same here. Since GPU driver is not working, I downgraded again the firmware. Now it’s working again after several firmware updates.

I had this same issue on my 1288X, and I was able to resolve it by downloading the driver QPKG and installing it manually in App Center. I did not need to uninstall or reboot before my GPU (3060 6GB in Container Station mode) started working again with my containers.
