Recently, while using QVPN Client, I noticed two areas in the connection logs that feel a bit inconvenient, and I’d like to suggest some possible improvements.
1. The same connection is split into too many records
As shown in the attached image, every time I connect to the VPN, from the moment I click connect until the connection is established, several log entries with very close timestamps appear. I understand the system might want to record every status change, but this makes the log look quite messy, and it becomes troublesome to find a specific connection record from before.
I wonder if it could be changed to:
-
By default, consolidate records from the same connection into a single entry
-
If you want to see detailed statuses, you can expand it to view the specifics
This would make the logs much cleaner and easier to search.
2. Viewing a profile also generates a connection log?
Another odd thing: when I just open a VPN profile to view its contents without actually connecting, a new entry still appears in the connection log. This logic feels a bit off.
I think the connection log should only record events where an actual connection action takes place. If you want to log actions like viewing a profile, maybe it would be more appropriate to put them in the system activity log?
These are some thoughts from my experience. I hope they help improve the product. Thank you!
