QVR Face 2.2.0 Release: NVIDIA GPU Support and Enhanced Management Efficiency

Hello QVR Face community,

We are pleased to announce the official release of QVR Face 2.2.0. This update provides full compatibility with QTS 5.2.x, QuTS hero h5.2.x / h6.0.x, and QVP 2.x operating systems.

As the demand for AI video recognition continues to grow, the effectiveness of a system is defined by its computing power and the ease of data management. This update unlocks significant hardware potential and introduces deep optimizations to address common pain points in face database management.

Hardware Expansion: NVIDIA GPU Acceleration Support

QVR Face 2.2.0 officially supports NVIDIA RTX 20, 30, and 40 series GPU cards. By leveraging hardware acceleration, the system can process multi-channel video with ultra-low latency, significantly increasing recognition efficiency and the number of concurrent tasks.

  • Performance Boost: For example, an Intel Core i3-12100 that previously handled approximately 18 channels can now process up to 33 channels when paired with an RTX 2090 GPU — representing a performance improvement of approximately 80%. (Note: Actual channel capacity may vary based on camera stream quality and FPS). Accelerate your QVR Face analysis Now!

Flexible Deployment: New Detection Modes and Advanced Parameters

We have introduced new settings to ensure AI analysis aligns more closely with specific environmental requirements:

  • Flexible Configuration with “Face Detection Only” Mode: If your scenario only requires confirming the presence of individuals without performing identity matching, this mode saves significant computing power and optimizes system resource allocation.

  • Advanced Threshold Settings: Users can now fine-tune thresholds for Face Size, Face Angle, and Similarity based on their specific use cases.

The Art of Minimalist Management: Streamlined Workflow and Centralized Control

Managing databases with thousands of entries is no longer a challenge. Face 2.2.0 simplifies administrative tasks through several key improvements:

  • List View and Batch Management: Support for displaying groups and members in a list format. You can now select and edit multiple members simultaneously, improving management efficiency for large-scale data.

Group List

  • “Invalid Profiles” Section: The system automatically identifies and flags profiles that do not have valid face data. By centralizing these in a dedicated area, administrators can perform quick data cleansing to maintain a high-quality database.

  • Simplified Setup Process: The “Profile Key” is now an optional field. Combined with the new auto-numbering function, the initial deployment and profile creation process is more intuitive and faster.

  • Clearer Resource Monitoring: We have optimized the display of licensing information. You can now see the number of free and licensed AI analysis tasks at a glance, allowing for immediate resource reallocation.
