Unlimited Playback in QVR Pro

Recently, we’ve received feedback suggesting adjustments. QVR Pro itself provides 8 free camera recording channels, but if you want to use QVR Pro Client to playback recordings older than 14 days, you’ll need a GOLD or Unlimited Playback license.

Let me briefly share the original design concept:

QVR Pro was designed with this mechanism from the very beginning; it is not a restriction added later. The 14-day playback limit was mainly intended to ensure users can fully experience the recording features within the scope of free services, and to allow retention of recordings beyond 14 days without additional cost.

Recordings older than 14 days are not deleted; they remain stored on the hard drive and can be accessed and viewed via File Station or Recording Viewer. There are two considerations behind this design:

  1. To avoid situations where “files are deleted prematurely, which does not meet user expectations,” such as setting a 30-day recording period but finding content cleared ahead of time.
  2. To ensure that after upgrading to GOLD/Unlimited Playback service, past recordings are still available for playback, preventing inconvenience caused by lost footage.

For those who need fewer recording channels but want long-term playback, QVR Elite, a subsequent product, has already adjusted this mechanism:

  • QVR Elite does not have the 14-day playback restriction, but the number of free built-in recording channels is adjusted to 2 channels

This is our current functional adjustment. As for QVR Pro, features that benefit users will not be easily withdrawn.
