QVR VS-8140Pro+ Reset button NOT working !

I have a surveillance system, QVR Viostor VS-8140Pro+ Version 5.1.6 (2022/04/01), and I feel like I never changed the admin password, but 2 days ago, suddenly I can’t log in with my default admin password, and it says “Incorrect username and password.”

Today, I tried to reset the password following the QNAP guidance that I need to press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds and there would be a beep sound that indicated reset. It works, but I have tried it, but no beep sound came out after 3 seconds or more than 3 seconds (almost 30 seconds I held and pressed the reset button on the back panel). I keep trying to log in with user : admin & pass : admin (Not working), user : admin & pass : MAC address (I tried 4 MAC addresses, but the same didn’t work). Now, I try to shut down and disconnect the power and press the reset button and plug back the power (this does also not work).

I have a regular user besides the admin user on this QVR and I am able to log in normally, but there is nothing I can do with the regular user, as the full setup and menu are on the admin side. Is there another way that I need to try to get my QVR admin back?

Hi @amar.ridhwan we tested on our VS series unit, and when the reset is triggered correctly, the LED will switch to a flashing red light along with an audible beep. Once the LED turns green again, you should be able to log in using admin / admin.

Based on your description, it seems the reset may not have been successfully activated. In our own testing, we could not press the button properly with a ballpoint pen either, we had to use tweezers to reach it. Could you please try again using a thinner tool and see if that works?

I use paper clip for reset the QVR and I felt 100% the reset button is pressed however no beep sound coming after 3 second or more. Do you think this method will works? I would like to perform it but still doubt with loosing the data.
