I have QNap TS-453E. Currently it contains 2 HDD in Raid 1:
- 20 Tb WD202KFGX
- 20 Tb ST20000NT001
I want to have Raid 10 by using 4 HDD:
- 22 Tb WD221KFGX
- 22 Tb ST22000NT001
I need a step-by-step plan of the migration to not lost QNap configuration (including running docker containers, users, etc.). I can backup data itself somewhere outside temporary.
Could you please suggest the most reliable and easy way of such migration?
RAID1 to 10 is not supported (any reason it HAS to be RAID10 and not 5 or 6?)
Here is your possible migration levels
Also make sure you ALWAYS have backups…not just when you plan to erase your NAS.
Thanks a lot, I read very carefully available automatic migrations, so I am aware about absence of automatic migration way. That’s why I am looking for non-automatic the easiest one. As I mentioned, I can backup data, so I just need to migrate server config itself. Is it possible?
