RAID Scrubbing scheduler / weekdays or weekends only option

Hello,

It would be very practical to have the option to choose only weekdays or weekends when scheduling the RAID scrubbing, since it hogs resources.

I hope I don’t need to open a ticket to have such a practical option implemented.

Thanks for considering it,

NK

So you can choose “weekly” for the scrubbing and then select Saturday or Sunday.

You can also set exclude days. In the picture below, I set it up to exclude scrubbing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays:

I am not a fan of frequent scrubbing; it slows things down a lot. So, I set it up monthly on the 31st. It runs 7 times a year, one day of which is New Year’s Eve. Another of which frequently falls on Memorial Day weekend.

As long as we are suggesting features, Why not allow specific days. In January I could schedule scrubbing on Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and maybe New Years Day.

If QNAP can find an Open source global calendar with local holidays, setting our location could display official holidays.

Then depending on the type of NAS usage, we could choose the global scrubbing frequency and include/exclude certain kinds of dates, to suit home or business usages.

That’s why I would like to be able to schedule scrubbing only on weekdays once a month, and not have a slow NAS during the weekend.

Nice trick using the 31st to limit/reduce the scrubbing frequency… unfortunately, some 31st dates land on weekends.

Among similar ideas: a check box to skip next occurance.

Thanks for all your suggestions! We’ll pass them on to the relevant product departments for evaluation. Thank you!
