I own a QNAP TS-451+ with RAM 2gb
firmware version: QTS 5.2.4.3105
CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU J1900, fino a 1900 MHz (4 core, 4 thread)
I wish to improve RAM…
As I read in previous Qnap forum I must buy:
Actually I’m oriented in Kingston memory because “i knew” that Kingston is the best… but I know nothing (or a bot more) so I’m here to follow suggestion from who knows more than me…

The TS-451+ has only DDR3 RAM
DDR3L, SO DIMM, 204 Pin

But I would consider using your old NAS as a backup for a new NAS. You are EOL and at this point adding ram might not get you to the level you want.
maybe also increase to 16gb…is it possible?
NAS I has bought 2 years ago… sigh… I did not consider to change it 
That model MAX 8gb That is why I suggest new NAS.
Just thought I note here - in case anyone came across it - that I put 2x8GB sticks (so 16GB RAM in total) into my TS-451+ and it detected them accurately and does appear to be utilising them.
They were listed on EBay as “Crucial DDR3L 16GB 8GB 1600Mhz 2Rx8 PC3L-12800 1.35V SODIMM Memory Laptop 204pin”.

Another successful 16 GB upgrade on the QNAP TS-451+! 
Just confirming that we also managed to “overwhelm” our TS-451+ with 16 GB RAM instead of the officially supported 8 GB.
Our configuration:
NAS: QNAP TS-451+
CPU: Intel Celeron J1900
RAM: 2 × 8 GB Kingston KCP3L16SD8/8
Memory: DDR3L-1600, 1.35 V
Firmware: QTS 5.2.10
After installation, the NAS booted and QTS correctly recognized 16 GB (2 × 8 GB).
The first startup took longer than expected, and some services initially weren’t accessible. Eventually, the QTS administration interface and SMB file sharing both became available.
Everything appears to be working normally so far.
Important: This is still an unsupported memory configuration. We haven’t completed long-term stability or memory stress testing yet, so I can’t guarantee reliability.
But at least we can confirm that another TS-451+ recognizes and boots with 16 GB, this time using Kingston modules.
