Recover no beep / dead Intel J1900 based Qnap HS-251+

Count me in the failed Qnap device club due to Intel chip flaw finally revealed after 7+ years continuous NAS use. I have that rather rare HS-251+ (silent model) which doesn’t have common LPC-CN1 pins as seen in TS-251 family.

Did anyone succeed in finding solution fixing it easier way than directly soldering resistor to the tiny pin of Fintek chip? That was proven to be working but way beyond my skills unfortunately. Would be good to know alternative soldering points if there are any at all.

Past discussion on forum and hs-251 board pictures has already been shared here:

Thanks!

There’s no need to solder, just get a couple of jumpers to attach the resistor to the pins instead:

Thanks for the hint, wish it were that simple, even soldering those big pins not a problem, problem is that HS-251/251+ (fanless model) doesn’t have those pins at all on motherboard like on TSx53 models. So far users were only able solder resistor to the chip pin directly, which is like human hair precision soldering skills required (impossible for common user).
