There is no recovery option built into the NetBak PC Agent. It only opens the HDP Backup Explorer in Firefox. Browsing through folders is very slow. When trying to restore a folder with around 400 files, it says “too many files.” When I open the folder and select all the included files, the restore proceeds. However, I can’t choose the restore path; it just starts downloading a ZIP file containing the recovered files. The problem is that the download speed is around 500–700 kb/s. Downloading my 385 GB backup would take about eight days. (NAS in LAN with 1 Gbit/s — tested with Firefox and Edge.) Creating the backup only took one hour for 385 GB. I haven’t tested the USB boot recovery since the backups are taken from a remote file server and only single Files/Folders should be restored.

Greetings,
Have you made any progress with this? I used Acronis for years and moved to Macrium Reflect 6-7 years ago. (Windows User) I don’t back up my Macs. For images I often use CloneZilla, but I decided I wanted to try NetBack Up. QNAP user since 2012.
The boot media for Acronis and Macrium both work stellar. You indicated you cannot choose a restore destination. That sounds limiting but is doable
I use a lot of VMs too and don’t usually need file or folder level recovery.
Your issue. I suggest you use the boot media. Doing so through the browser interface is likely your bottleneck. I’d be curious to hear more about what you may have tried.
