SMB Service 4.15.005 BUG (SMB Lockouts)

SMB 4.15.005 is fully buggy …
Cannot access as usual to my Nas FilesSystem from Windows as fast it was.

Can you please elaborate more ?

I managed to get access to windows file system after enabling smb multi channel
Access to windows file system is very slow.
It’s need to click twice to get to files.
It’s slow to load in thrid part app

SMB Multi-Channel only works if you have the NAS connected to the network via multiple NICs. If you don’t have that, then multi-channel does nothing.

Definitely need to ge more information from you on what you are seeing.

After enabling SMB Multi-Channel..
Nas FilesSystem from Windows get back … It’s is not fully instant .. 1 second delay.
Sound like something spreading on the Nas file system.
Cannot explain why.

Regarding your observation that multi-channel has improved speeds, we suggest the following tests to further pinpoint any potential bottlenecks:

  1. Try different network ports: Attempt to plug the network cable into different ports to see if there is a noticeable difference in performance. This helps rule out issues with specific physical ports or cables.

  2. Test with another computer: If possible, try connecting with a different computer of similar specifications. This will help determine if the bottleneck is related to the drivers or system configurations of a specific device.

Thanks!

To hopefully add some clarity to this issue, I am running a TS-453Be with current firmware (QTS 5.2.9.3499 Build 20260514). When I updated the SMB service and many other Apps yesterday, I lost all access to SMB on my Windows client computer that has worked for years. Once I found this thread, I turned on Multi-channel and it restored that access. I have since turned it off again and the access remains working. I hope that provides some clarity.

FYI, this occurred with a different version of SMB (SMB Service h4.20.005). Same issue, different version.

One other piece of info, before I did the multi-channel fix, I had already tried disabling and re-enabling the SMB service, and also restarting the NAS and the windows client computers. None of those fixed the issue.
