I want to move programs transferred to NAS with sMedioDTCP

I am currently using TS264. I transferred programs from the external HDD of my TV (Panasonic VIERA) to the NAS using sMedioDTCPMOVE, but I mistakenly saved them in the wrong shared folder. When I tried to move them to the correct folder by opening the NAS folder again in sMedioDTCPMOVE’s “Content Move,” the programs did not appear.

So, I tried moving the program files (TSI, DTCP, and INFO files) to the desired folder using FileStation5, but when I checked from the TV, the target folder was empty and the programs were not visible.

If anyone knows how to move programs transferred by sMedioDTCPMOVE within the NAS, please let me know.

I sent an inquiry email to the support address listed in the sMedioDTCPMOVE license registration email, but I haven’t received a reply even after half a month. When I asked QNAP’s support desk, I was instructed to post here.

Thank you very much.

The sMedio DTCP MOVE page on QNAP explains the mechanism of DTCP-IP protection. This system uses encryption and authentication to ensure that content can only be transmitted and played on authorized devices within the home network, preventing unauthorized access and copying from outside.

It seems likely that this mechanism is the reason why direct movement within the NAS is not possible. For more detailed reasons, it would be appropriate to wait for an explanation from sMedio DTCP MOVE.

It seems that with sMedioDTCPMove, you can move files within the NAS using the file manager.

I think it would be good to check step by step.

  1. After moving content from the TV to the NAS, can you view that content from the TV? (Test content is fine)
  2. After moving with FileStation, did you execute [sMedio DTCP Move] - [Server Maintenance] - [Rescan Content Folder]?

I don’t have any test content on hand, so I haven’t tried it yet, but when I have time, I’ll take a look myself.

@Harinezumi
Thank you for your reply.
By performing the “Rescan Content Folder” as you instructed, I was able to confirm the moved program from the TV.
Thanks to you, one of my problems has been resolved.
Thank you very much.

@haru0

Thank you very much for your reply.
I thought I had looked through the page you suggested quite thoroughly, but I had missed the explanatory video, so I watched it carefully this time.
However, I was unable to find the information I needed.
As you said, I will wait for a response from technical support.
Thank you very much.

@tao

I’m glad to hear that one of the issues has been resolved.
If there are still any other problems, please feel free to contact me. I can check and try it out on my end as well.

@Harinezumi

Thank you for your reply.
The issue with the transfer has been resolved, but I am now struggling with whether it is possible to change the order of the transferred programs.
First, I am thinking of contacting sMedioDTCPMOVE support. If I do not receive a reply within two weeks, I think I will post here again.
At that time, I may need your help once more.
Thank you in advance.
