Some Days I just have to laugh...

So some days, I just have to laugh at how horribly bad QNAP software is. I have been trying to use the File Cloud Gateway in Hybrid Mount to synchronize a 30GB web server. It has been running now for over a week and sucking tremendous CPU load and resources. Yet I still don’t have the full directory structure enumerated.

Then I got this error this morning. This is just the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.

Wait, 63 GB, the MAXIMUM memory I can have does not meet the minimum requirement of 8 GB? How can you even code this sort of message into your software?

But what’s funnier is the actual usage is only 57% or 36GB!

Oh QNAP, QNAP, QNAP. Please improve. Don’t advertise a function of an app (File Cloud Gateway) as fast when it isn’t. And if you are going to have apps like this, make sure they work and that your support team knows how to solve customer problems.

Nas might be using ram for cache. If you reboot, it might solve the problem. The atttached shows using all available ram for cache while ram usage doesn’t reflect this

Missing my point…

Says that my 63GB isn’t enough and to make sure I have at least 8GB installed…

True, that is a misleading error message, but rebooting might solve your problem.

Regarding the error message you reported: Our internal team tested this repeatedly and we were unable to reproduce the situation.
