speech notifications broken after recent update

hello forum,

I have a NAS with a built-in speaker. The speaker beeps on reboot and I can start Music Station 5 and play music. so the speaker is not broken.

However after some recent updates (by “recent” I mean maybe a few months), the speech notifications do not work.

In Control Panel → Hardware → Audio Alert, everything is checked (as usual), but the “Test” button does nothing, and I don’t hear and sound -as I used to.

I also tried stopping the Multimedia Console with no luck.

My NAS is a TS-832X, fully up to date (it updated yesterday to QTS 5.2 10 3568)

Thanks for the report! We’ll check internally whether we can reproduce this issue.

@m.holmes we have confirmed that Multimedia Console 2.11.0 is causing the Control Panel unable to play speech notifications normally and we are working on a fix.

The update 2.11.1 will be released soon for this issue, we apologize for the inconvenience caused.

I can confirm that the upgrade from 2.11.0 to 2.11.1 has fixed speech-based notification alerts. Thanks all.
