Swapping drive positions in a QNAP NAS

I did a search here and via Google but did not find an answer to my question detailed below:

I have an 8-bay TS-831X that, for some reason I can’t quite remember, has three drives installed in slots #1, #3, and #5. Possibly for drive cooling but I am no longer sure.

Is it possible to move the drive in slot #3 to slot #2 and the drive in slot #5 to slot #3 without upsetting the data or does the entire array have to be rebuilt.

Thank you.

If it is done while the NAS is not running, then modern CAT2 NAS do not care about the position of the drives, no.

Message received and, per your suggestion, I powered the NAS down and moved the drives. The NAS never skipped a beat!

Thanks!
